Empower, Engage, Excite
DeeNice (Denise) Rhodes, a native Washingtonian, is the proud product of the Washington DC Public School System, having graduated from Coolidge High School during the 70’s. Her early work as a top pharmaceutical & cardiovascular sales representative led to becoming the first African-American woman Orthopedic Medical Territory Sales Manager in the 1980’s. She has also had a successful career working for Fortune 100 medical and technology companies like: Hewlett Packard & Microsoft.

During the early 1980’s, DeeNice got bitten by the “technology bug” which started her journey branded as “The Digital Dynamo” tm – in the relentless pursuit in taming the technology tiger(grrrrrrrrrr).  She has always had a strong passion for helping others become comfortable with technology, with a focus on the African-American community. DeeNice has delivered presentations for HP on the Tom Joyner Sky Show Cruise for 2 years, the National Press Club “Women in Technology”, and many other venues as a tech evangelist on how to become Empowered, Engaged and Excited with technology.

Currently, DeeNice is on a mission to assist under-served communities (i.e. elderly, minorities, disabled and rural) to become connected during the Transition to Digital Television national switchover. She has provided workshops, educational training, and hands-on events to help these “under-served, yet well deserved” get digitally connected.  Through her non-profit, The Urban Progressive Foundation, she leads a grassroots effort to train, educate, and assist our communities to Transition to Digital Television before the June 12, 2009.
